Parent Talk offers four to six lectures throughout the year given by expert speakers on topics relevant to parenting and child development. Admission is free to Parent Talk members. As space fills quickly, advance registration via our website is strongly encouraged. Non-members are welcome to attend and may pre-register if space permits for a reduced fee of $20 or pay $25 at the door on the eve of event.
Each event begins with a dessert or wine and cheese reception at 7 p.m. immediately followed by a 90-minute lecture at 7:30 p.m. Our evening lectures are hosted at different venues in the Metrowest Boston area including libraries, golf clubs, school auditoriums, and public libraries. The lecture series is a wonderful way to meet new friends and connect with old ones plus learn from experienced presenters who draw from an array of research and published work.
Lecture topics addressed over the past few years include: improving your children's sleep (featuring Dr. Richard Ferber), issues related to raising boys (featuring Dr. Michael Thompson), discipline tactics, self-esteem, resiliency, friendship, and how to instill financial responsibility. We look forward to growing the series and welcome volunteers to participate in its development and maintenance. To get involved, please email lecture@parenttalk.info.
